OT forklift tank dimension standards
This is for a design project. I know this must exist, but cant put my finger on it. are there dimension standards for the collar on 33 pound tanks used on forklifts? and if so, where do I find them?
I need to know the size ranges and if there are any controls on those sizes.
thanks for your help

I am sure there is a standard somewhere. My neighbor gave me a truckload of tanks the other day.
Some of these are 30 years old according to him. Some steel, some alum but all appr the same dia.

I would Google "propane tank bracket", or "forklift propane hold-down" etc.
Then study any/all claims to compatibility, adaptability, etc.
Or call around the propane dealers, forklift dealers, ag dealers, etc. and ask for a "propane tank bracket for my forklift". See if "all the same" or "can't guarantee it fits" is heard.
Another thought would be to call Atlanta Liftruck Salvage in Atlanta and pick their brain.
Perhaps there are NGO endorsements on the tanks you have?
Perhaps ANSI?
I just found this:
http://www.missiongas.com/lpgascylinders.htm
Forklift operators use a propane cylinder designed specifically for forklift use
And for you folks with those stand-up lifts that take a smaller bottle, I'll throw you a bone:
Used primarily for indoor floor buffer operation
