Hi all

just wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what din 878 represents, does anyone have the PDF or data on this.

I find it silly when trying to buy a dial gauge all the products say conform to din 878 but nowhere even on the web can I find what the heck those tolerances are...

I'm after something with a 0.01mm resolution and probably no more than 0.01-0.02mm error

Try this. Scroll down to the section on DIN specifications.

002 : About Standards and Specifications

Apparently, you have to purchase the handbook in order to view the codes specifically. Judging by what is written in their website about copyright laws, you may have good luck by simply calling or emailing L.I.I. & asking what the error in the DIN code allows. AGD (American) standards allow an error of 1 graduation over a travel of 2 1/3 revolutions of the counter. I'd imagine DIN specifications would be very similar to this. Hope this helps.
