Need a source for Ryertex.

This in Ryersons description sounds just like other phenolics. Micarta was an old name. Easily available at such as McMaster-Carr, but you have to know grade. Ryerson lists 8 different types of Ryertex.

Ryertex C is canvas based phenolic. Similar to Garolite CE (cotton cloth based) sold by McMaster-Carr. A 3" OD stick is their catalog number 8467K68 and is available either a foot long or four feet long in Catalog 111. In this older catalog it was $69.40 a foot.

I have bought a bunch of phenolic laminate from this eBay seller. If he has what you want, it will be much less than retail. You should decide whether you want to make your part from a rectangle (flat layers of canvas) or whether you have to have a round (coiled layers of canvas). I keep the shop vac running with a nozzle next to the part in the lathe lathe when I turn this stuff, and I wear a dust mask. It makes a mess.
