I need a couple of chuck mounting plates to mount tooling to my Weiler LZ330

The DIN 800 60X4 nose requires a spigot length of over an inch (two inch total thickness) and an OD of just over 3 1/8th inch to accommodate the clamping ring.
7 inch size would be just right

This is on line link popped up
Rough Cast Adapters for Plain Back Chucks (WT)

Can anyone make a suggestion of alternative economical sources?

Check out the price of a disc of Durabar - much nicer to machine too;)

Just looked up one of our small order suppliers who definitely aren't cheap . and you'd have change out of $60 for 200mm dia.

You can look up Lokey Alloys in Ft. Worth, TX, a Dura Bar supplier. A 7" OD x 2" lg slug probably around $80 bucks, plus/minus a few bucks. G-2 Gray Iron or 80-55-06 Ductile Iron, either would make a nice chuck adapter. Be much nicer to machine than the POS you would be buying from WTS, which would could be crap to machine, probably from India!

Mark Thanks for the link

even after conversion the price seems reasonable. But the thickness comes up short for the DIN 800 spec. The plates need to be > 50mm thickness.

The raw materials suppliers seem to be the bet. Even if I hate making all that CI "dust". Near net just seems so much cleaner!

That's where I started ;-)

Local steel supply does not stock anything free cutting. "Can't weld to it"

This is a small town, Shipping metal UPS adds up! ;-)
