I got a couple of these Sandvik small boring heads with a lathe purchase. I seem to be missing the arm/arbor part as I only have the heads.

part# R479.9

Does anyone use these?
are they any good?

If I can still get the arm/arbor is it worth buying
or worth making?

I can tell from the font on the boring head that this thing is old. I'm familiar with Sandvik's last two generations of fine boring bars and this ain't either one of them.

I'd put it on eBay and get rid of it.

Those are rough boring heads for in a mill. You don't need the adjustment in a lathe, and they are less rigid/less strong than a solid bar. I don't recognize the bar attachment, it's different than current bars, I've never seen that style on ebay and I watch for them.

I'd pitch them, more trouble than they are worth to use.
