Thread: Source needed for .002" full hard 260 brass

I am looking for some 260 or 268 brass, 0.002" (+/- .0002") full hard H04. I only need enough to cut a few parts about 1" square. I can only find 1/2 hard material.

What alloy and hardness is Precision Brand shim stock? Unfortunately, I only have 5 and 10, but I do have 2 in stainless.

I would think you could call and get a short piece, usually 6 inches wide, cheaply. If SS would do, message me and I'll put more than enough in an envelope to do what you need. You Do mention brass, so mebbe you NEED brass. I don't know why.

Yes, it needs to be 260 or 268 brass as that is what the drawing calls for. Precision Brand, Lyon, and Shim-in-a-Can are all 1/2 hard.
