Anyone care to make comment on the old vs the new? For example the current 600 series is much lower mass than the old 600 series...... same for the C series C0 - C3?

Old castings look like they were designed by someone who worked in a foundry all their life. Current castings look like a beginning CAD program from someone who's never been near a foundry.

Are the new much less sturdy? Looks alone would tend to support that thought..... but I have no personal experience with the new products

I do however have guys who will break what can be broken. Do I buy new C3's and 600N's or search out old???

I don't see much difference between a recent 450N and a 15-year-old 450N. Newer might be lighter, but it's not light and seems to have ample beef where needed. If your guys wailed on a 600N with a 10lb sledge, I'm sure they could break it. But that was probably true 50 years ago, too.
