I searched around for a comprehensive video/thread on adjusting a bandsaw, and i found one video via youtube that was good, but just no applicable seemingly to my application.

I need a manual most likely, but do not have one.

I believe my blade is some how not running vertical. The band saw cuts great from guide to guide, but from top to bottom there is a big difference.

I would start by checking to see if the the blade guides are square to the saw table.

The tee member that the guides slide on should be adjustable for adjusting squareness.

You really shouldn't need a manual, just think through the geometry of what's going on here.

I don't have any experience with a Startrite saw but I have seen some saws of this type that will negatively effect the set on the teeth on one side of the blade as the teeth pass over the wheel(s)if the wheels aren't rubber coated.
When this happens, it usually causes the cut to drift towards the left (when standing at the pivot end and looking towards the vise clamping handle).

Everything appears to be square, i also don't understand how i can measure squareness in the way i am thinking ti is out of square. I have tried several machinist squares and there is no datum to Gage this from. I think the guides need to be rotated about the axis the blade creates, and after tearing apart the thing, i don't see where this is possible. I also think My guides are missing carbide inserts.

It looks like the back guide has a carbide button, but the guides on the side do not appear to have carbide.Capture.jpg

I have that saw, and I have the book. The book will be of no help to you.

When I priced new guides 8 years ago the price was over $1000 with 6 week delivery. Not the entire arm assembly, just 4 bolt on guides. So I got out my arc welder and hardface rod and built the guides up. I ground them back square and put them on. It still cuts great for squareness.

Repair or remake your guides and I think your troubles will disappear.
