Tooling spindle locks

Hi,

I have an 1970 TOS Kurim FNK 25 milling machine that I'm currently rebuilding.

tooling.jpg

Like you see in the pictures, the tool has 2 keyways for the spindle tool lock. Lets call these female lock for now.

The spindle on the machine has the same female locks... So there is no way the tooling is going to lock in place...

Now... I have to go look again but there are 4 threaded holes on the bottom of the spindle... Could there be an

adapter that has male locks on both side?

Thanks Nick

This isn't your TOS FNK but no matter http://www.lathes.co.uk/tos-zbrojovka-fa/page2.html

In the top pic you will see there are separate keys fitted in to the spindle end slots - the keys are usually square and retained with an allen cap screw in a counterbore, ........they have to be a good fit on the spindle end slots, but not the tool, .they are purely driving keys.

PS, if you can see threaded holes in the slots - look closer, in the event of a crash they are known to break the screws off.

Yes sir you are right! I just looked in my handbook and sure enough it's there. I guess il make some. Thank you!
