    Default tos lathes repairs

    i recently brought a tos trencin SN40 lathe , and oil is not reaching the main spindle bearing , any suggestion will be welcome solving this problem

    First thing is to make sure the motor drive is the right direction. There is an arrow on the main drive pulley.

    The Tos SN 40 has a gear pump
    So direction is important
    At the back of the machine you have a pulleyshaft
    at the other end of that shaft there is the pump
    the oil should be visable in the oilsight and should just reach the lower shaft with the couplings
    Also air trapped in the system might be the problem
    There are some point on the pump to pure it
    Manual is available on that french site mentioned in the sticky in the manauls section on PM

    Thanks Peter, Really appreciate the information. Have been trying to get this information without success for a while now..Your response is of great help.
    I changed the motor from three phase to single phase, therefore that has to be where i went wrong.
