Trying to identify a collet

If you look at the machining marks and the Stamping, it looks like a homemade job for something. I know this it is not any of the C1 through 7 type collets, nor is it an R8.

Do you have something that it fits? Or more than one? That might be a better clue as to what it is.

But I suspect not.

Yes. It is part of the Snap-on stud extractor system. My thought was that someone was using a 'standard' collet, threading it and had a mini holder to draw it in and then remove the stud. 4 pc Stud Remover Set (3/4"-1–1"-8) is the part.

If I could ID the collet series, I can make any specialty ones I need...

If its just for pulling studs, it does not have to be super accurate.

You should be able to work out the dimensions with your calipers and do a quick sketch in a cad program.

I have made them, no big deal. Measure and make, simple. They are not even hardened.
