Hi, I do not do much tapping in the CNC mill if I do it is 1/4-20 up to 1/2-13. Now I need to do a run of 400 holes M10X1.5 in hot rolled plate (first time metric tapping in the mill). I am going to use 388 R.P.M and 22.91 IPM. Does this sound like a good start? Thanks

As long as 1 revolution of the spindle = 1 threadpitch, you're good to go.

Calling M10 x 1.5 , 3/8 x 16 is close enough for cutting speed.

If you put a G95 (feed per revolution) before the feed rate, (F 0.0591) you can use whatever rpm you like. Start at 300 rpm and work your way up to whatever looks good. Add a G94 at the end of your threading section to return to feed / minute.
