I have a 1/8HP AC coolant pump, I believe it is a common induction motor. It is currently wired for 110V power. When I put 120V to the leads, it doesn't turn or respond at all. I can spin the rotor with power connected and it feels no different than with no power.
There is a small blue capacitor attached to the motor. It looks sealed where the wires enter the motor.
1. Is it possible to remove the stator on an induction motor to check for broken or corroded wires?
2. If the (starting?) capacitor has failed, will the motor still run?
Thanks
