Hi Guys,
I am planning to build the plate/table for my Adams 3-A Screw press. It is about 3-4 tonnes press. I am going to attach the plate to the press table so I can mount my dies on it. I am going to stamp Silver and Gold of max .040" thickness. I did all the operation on Adams 2 Screw press and now, when I rebuilt Adams 3A, I am trying to transfer existing punches and dies to it.
I can buy plate that is 17" x 9"x 1" made of hot rolled steel. I suppose even 3/4 of an inch thickness should be enough. However, I will need to machine the plate extensively and I am wondering if Hot rolled steel is correct material for the application.
Thanks in advance. letlevski
