well, the AR mags in my home town have hit $100.00 per piece for what ever junk mag you can find. I had looked it building a polymer mold but I dont have access to a injection press. However, I do have direct access to a kling 75 ton with a decoiler so stamping is going to be the most viable option. Anyone have a lead to a solid or dxf prints ill make it worth your while when I start stamping.

I don't have any help for your request, but if you'd kindly point me towards people willing to pay $100/mag, I would really appreciate it :)

You're kidding, right? I went to the Austin Saxet gun show on Saturday, and there was a 200 yard long line of folks waiting to get in (no that's not normal). .308 PMags (plastic Magpul mags) were selling for $165. AR lower parts kits $165.

The PMags are really sold out everywhere, but items like the LPK's are just plain old profiteering. The problem with setting up to make your own is that the panic will be over in a month or two...

Seems to happen every time there is threat of gun ban - except this time in extreme. I went to the local Cabellas two weeks ago for rifle ammo and the aisles were jammed in the gun section - I was shocked by the crowd and inability to walk down aisles due to people standing around - wanted to talk to counter help and was told to "take a ticket" and steered to ticket machine - there were more than 40 numbers ahead of me - and this was before lunch on a working Tuesday (I thought it would be a slow period)..
I sure hope the panic dies - it has to...and so one wonders about Obama statements like " if we save just one life, then it (what the gov does regarding gun control) will be worth it"...well I can imagine he has already unintentionally killed 100s into the future with the ensuing buying frenzy and the accompanying new percentage of neophytes that now own an AR-15 that may never have without the threat of ban...
I saw a news cast last night that police forces here in Texas a starting to conserve AR-15 ammo due to shortages in supply - even for them

your right about the scare being over in a few months but either they will ban the mags or there will be none left. I could build the die in about a week and slam out blanks that just need the bottom, spring, and follower. as long as we have the bodies I think we would be ok.

Kuraki, call any gun store in the southeast tn area and they will scarf up all you want to sell. wallmart shelves are empty of ammo and black powder here. they get shippments in on tuesdays but there is a line 50 people long just waiting. I paid $75.00 for a box of winchester .45 100 round target box. the gun ranges here have guys with push brooms sweeping up brass as fast as it hits the ground and they sift the dirt at the end of the day for the lead in the berm. its out of control here

There was a guy posting here a couple of years back had scans of AR15 and M14 blueprints, including mag boxes. I think he put them on a download site.

I'll have a look over the next day or two to see if can find his posts.

I don't understand that. I'm quite regular on gun forums and I see magazines sit unsold at the $50 price point and snapped up at the $20 or 2x normal price point.

I don't have enough to sell for $20 each. For $100 each I can afford to sell all but 10 or so and wait for my back ordered, normal priced magazines to come in.

Sell them now - Obama's record of getting ideas past congress since passage of the Affordable Health Care Act is abysmal. They will be so consumed with just getting a new budget ceiling passed that not much else will get done...
Wish I had stocked up at 10$ ea for those mags...
Old wall street adage with some truth - "sell the rumor, buy the fact"
Means sell mags now buy them later - (even if banned they might be cheaper, and certainly cheaper if not banned)

You guys are a trip. I bought 50 at $5. ea. shipped a couple years ago. Military Kay 30 round mags. No, they are for family.

Problem is, Magpul, Tapco, Promag, and everyone else is making mags as fast as their tooling will run. Eventually the panic will die out (again), and there will be a glut of magazines, black rifles, parts, etc.

That's exactly what happened in 2008: black rifle sales went crazy, everyone and their brother with a VMC starting manufacturing AR receivers, and 99% of them went out of business by Summer '09.

Not trying to rain on your parade, just pointing out how these panic buys have panned out in the last couple of years.

50 mags huh? I had heard that Texas was planning to overthrow California, but I had suspected that it was just a rumor until now. How are you making out with that? You think you can tolerate all the whining after you own em? I think I'd just get a dog. But I'm kinda lazy that way.

You know for $100ea I might sell some!
We wouldn't want to overthrow Kalifornia. We sure as HELL don't want to inherit their socialist ways.

Might as well sell em all. In 6 moths they will be $4.00 each because everyone will have over ordered in anticipation of the ban. Or they may be banned, in which case you will be able to buy them on the street for $3.00 each from Mr. Pharmacy, the same guy that sells the rich people high quality recreational pharmaceuticals to give stability to their screwed up existence.
