bruce feeder (gatling)

Jusr curious if anyone knows if the Bruce feeder oscillates every round or if it drains one side and then switches, and if the latter is it automatic by weight of cartridges or do you have to flip it manually?? Thank Carl
 
The Bruce feed does not oscillate. It switches over automatically by weight of the remaining cartridge stack when the first track is empty. A full description is found in "The Gatling Gun" by Paul Wahl and Don Topel. The patent is # 247158 which can be found online in several places.

Thank you for the information I ran across it in the plans for a 1906 30cal. and was trying to deduce the operation from the drawings.
