Some time ago I asked about the method for checkering over the palm swell and added I might carve a broken clay onto the palm swell. I am not certain I ever posted the finished project:
Also, I had problems with "something" flying out the ports when firing; I assumed it was lead and GGaskill suggested breaking the edges of the ports. I trimmed some hardware cloth to fit the ports and "whipsawed" thru' the porting. That solved the problem. Two of the ports can be seen in this pic of the bb’l setup to mill the front rib post.
A pic of the finished gun; restocked and new adjustable rib: I dropped the butt considerably to fit my shoulder pocket and had to raise the comb to fit my neck length. Since weight is of little matter in a trap gun, in fact more weight is often better, I should have left the stock another ½” higher to avoid such a high comb.
