We tried to shoot the MG 34 off a modified picnic table. The vibration & no dirt for the bipod feet made the bipod spread.......the somewhat violent recoil & the required sitting position caused the gun to push the shooter back, removing hearing protection & dropping the muzzle. Even Donnas 6-3, 250# shooting buddy couldnt control it........

So.......I figured to get MG 34 on a more suitable mount for Donna....(Donna primarily sits due to her amputation)....as well as any other shooters. I robbed the MG 34 barrel jacket part of a bipod & linked it to the US pintle with two 1.25 x .250 straps & a couple bolts. It is a drop in for the basement post mount I got with an M-60. Post design is a telescope so it can be used sitting or standing. The mounting device on it is MG 42. Notice a traverse rod for use w/US 1919 T&E. I have a pintle adapter for the M-60 also. Machine shop Barry made the green mounting adapter to get 1919 & ANM 2 onto one of the late mounts for MG 3/53 with its neat sprung set up. The green adapter will also accommodate the MG 34 straps & jacket connector.

I couldnt figure how to put captions under the pics.....guess you guys can make the correct associations.
