Hello,
I have a Contender that I bought used about 40 years ago and I have couple of questions about it. It was built in '67 and has a very low serial #. It is chambered in 22 hornet and has an octagon barrel and a scope.
1. Are there different barrels as far as fitting certain frames? A friend of mine had a newer one and the barrels would fit but to get the action to unlock you needed to remove the forearm and push the pin out. I have seen references to G1 and G2.
2. The butt of the grip has what appears to be a silver plate with TCC engraved on it in fancy lettering. I am missing one of the screws that holds the plate on. It doesn't appear to be a normal screw and looks to be made of the same material as the plate, possibly silver.
Does anyone have any idea where I can get a matching screw?
Thanks for any help with this.
