Is it legal? If not, how many years in prison can you get for having one?

Most of these improvised weapons are blatantly illegal in many jurisdictions and possession carries higher penalties than an illegal handgun because they are disguised as harmless objects.

AND, because they are not the same as a handgun with sights any "collateral damage" to bystanders from a miss would likely be viewed as criminal negligence.

The scraped off paint and rough edges of deteriorated leather sure looks
like is from WW2, and not something new.

Plus if you put it on backwards.....you blow yur nutz off....
