How does one cut a chamber in a bore that is nitrocarburized. I am talking about in the home shop, the low path to technology. No doubt there is some super stuff one can buy using nano-diamond cutters, or whatever.
Apparently the process involves exposing the bore to nitrogen, can one conclude the hard layer is mostly towards the surface?
My situation is with a 50 BMG barrel, but apparently even some handgun barrels have this also.
