Pin size for pin/weld of muzzle device to 1/2-28 thread barrel? Is 5/64" pin OK?

The muzzle device is partially pre drilled with a hold larger than 5/64" but smaller than 3/32 which is the next size in my drill kit.

Can I use a 5/64" pin for the job, or do I need to go bigger?

If a 5/64 pin is loose, you will need to go larger. But I would suggest buying a full set of drills if you are going to do much of this kind of work.

I used to use 1/8" back in the AWB days. Mostly because I had a bunch of 1/8" pin stock.

I like .125 also just a convenient size
