This doesn't pertain to guns but it is the only forum I see that comes close to what I am looking for.

Does anyone have and can send or can someone tell me where I can find drawings for a trigger mechanism for a crossbow?
Thanks for any help.

The mechanism I've seen used a wheel with a 90d notch cut out for the string on the top and a notch on the bottom to catch the front edge of the sear. As you pull the string back it goes into the notch and rolls the wheel back until the notch catches on the sear. Pulling the trigger drops the sear out of the notch and releases the string. Sorry, no drawing handy.

Try a Google search, Popular Mechanics or Popular Science had a how to build a steel crossbow a number of years ago. Maybe 30 or 40 years ago IIRC.

Thanks,
Paul

Cross bow trigger mechanism

Found it, April of 1940 Popular Science, way before my time. My Grandfather saved both Popular Mechanics and Popular Science. So as very young children my brother and I would spend a lot of time upstairs in the "Library/spare bedroom" at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Popular Science - Google Books

See what you think, hope it works.

Thanks,
Paul
