Hey all,

Looking for a 4MT-4C collet, anyone know of a source or got one laying around ya might part with?

Thanks,
Mike

The usual approach is to take an un-hardened adapter of the appropriate MT and machine it in-house to suit a C collet of the same number.

That is:

5 MT spindle to smaller MT adapter --> 5C collet adapter

4 MT spindle to smaller MT adapter --> 4C collet adapter

3 MT spindle to smaller MT adapter --> 3C collet adapter

4C collet diameter is almost the same as the small diameter of Morse Taper 4. I do not think there is a commercially avertible adapter. You could try and bore a blank MT4 to accept the 4C, though I cannot see how this is going to work with a draw bar - unless you make a front collet closing nut. You can get soft MT4 blanks:

Tool Holders, Mill Holders, Collets: Collis Toolholder Iowa

I am not sure, however, if it is practical to peruse this.

I was hoping to be able to find one, but knew kinda obsolete. If I gotta make one so be it. Thanks for the info guys.

Not that its obsolete, just impractical. 4C thread dia of .945 and small end dia of MT4 of 1.020 does a good job of eliminating the possibility of a draw bar/draw tube.
