I'm talking about those who are making/selling/buying/using so-called solvent traps which is just a veiled way of really making gun suppressors.
Hey guys. I'm not a gunsmith. But I am curious how gunsmiths in general feel about solvent traps?

The guy intends making solvent traps - outside the USA but selling in the USA.

It's easy enough to get a real suppressor, legally that I think it's completely pointless. At best, you have a solvent trap that you never use, but it fuels your Walter Mitty fantasies. At worst you get caught shooting through one and now you're a felon. All for a suppressor that's much less effective than the what you could have had.
Edit: I'm assuming a US person.

Gordon is worried about exploding solvent traps. He said if I don't do the treading right, it will explode on me. Gordon wants to save my life.So what, solvent traps are legal. Leave the end cap off and it's a flash hider, also legal. Just make the part that screws onto the barrel and tell the customer that it's the same thread as a NAPA 4003, also legal.
If law enforcement needs something to do they can go after those *&(^## Russians who keep trying to put viruses on my computer.

Since the guts will never be perfectly concentric to the perhaps very expensive bore does such a device affect accuracy or is it short enough and the velocity is already maxed out and your are on the decel side so the effect is nil?
Not sure what the logic is behind making silencers or such illegal.
Likely a nice warm pissing down your leg type thing that gets you votes.

And actually, the muzzle FPS tends to increase sometimes with a can. Not much but sometimes it does. ...
That is interesting.
I am not a gun guy but I am a math and physics force and movement guy.
Retained pressures wave in the can sort of like a longer barrel helping give more accel?
That went way over my pay grade dude. You are talking Chinese to me right now. And to compound that, English is not my native tongue. Is there a resonate frequeny wave here depending on charge mix and tuned length?
Way outside and slower speed but on the line of why a output pipe for a 125 is way different that that for a 350 2 stoke motor as you amp and damp differently?
Is there a lower FPS with a limp wrist?
Trajectory gets screwed but not so sure on FPS on exit.
The whole force/mass/point of reference thing.

I like this whole thing about staying alive. So I am hoping Gordon tells me eventually.
