neat winter project,congratulations.

You guys had a real winter.

I started my winter project(one piece rifle rest) to early, finished to early, retired in January, climbed the walls all winter.

Thank goodness nice weather is almost here.

Menahga huh? Well you up nort den. It's nice to meet others on here who are from the Socialist Republic of Ten Thousand Taxes, AKA Minnesota.

I didn't think it was all that ambituous. I bought the plans from ccsprints. They are very comprehensive and well done. They do not represent a 1917 machine gun but rather the authors interpretation of the 1917 with the limitations imposed by sticking a Ruger 10/22 inside of it. I took the time to update the drawings so I had a more accurate finished product. It took about 80 hours to complete and thats from someone with very little machine experience. As a matter of fact I bought an 8x20 lathe and a 7x18 mill just for this project as all I have ever worked with was a little Taig lathe and mill for doing small parts for model ships that I build. I just happened to get this enormous desire this past January to make chips and after that it was all a blur.

So here it is: (Whoops. Thats what it started out as)
1917-11.jpg

Then after a lot of machining it turned into this:
1917-5.jpg

And then after a Duracoat job, it turned into this:
1917-6.jpg

and this

Anyways, just wanted to show it off and recemommend it as a possible next project . I'm looking for another project. I'm considering a gattling gun but in Canada its a prohibited device so I couldn't make a fully functional one.:(

Still looking though.

I'd like to build a fully functional .22 rf version of a Maxim MG. After all the work involved, I'd gladly pay Uncle Sam his $200 registration fee so I could play with it!

For all you guys who have built the CCS Prints 1917/19, submit your pictures to :http://www.ccsprints.com/ for possible inclusion in the Photo Gallery.

Rolland did and we are in the process of adding his.

Also, there is another .22 cal semi auto that you can build, the M2. These plans have been available for over a year now.

Here's mine along with the ammo can, and transit case.
