    Default Thompson M1 Bolt Material spec

    Hey Guys,

    Does anyone have the material spec and heat treatng procedure for a Thompson M1 bolt. I want do do some significant machining on one to make a semi-auto. I would like to anneal it first then heat treat after the machining is done.

    Years ago I made a couple of full-auto Thompsons (it was legal back then) and I machined the bolts without any tempering or heat treating concerns whatsoever. They are not particularly hard and do not need to be.
