My next threading job is 1.5”Dia x 1/8” pitch. Too big to hold in a 5C collet (that I don’t have). I do have a set of ER32 collets and a MT3 holder for them so that would be OK for reverse direction threading on a work piece up to 20mm dia.
Yes it is a Denford Viceroy lathe. I like it a lot. I do prototype work rather than production. The need for speed is driven by the desire to use carbide. I find carbide needs feed and speed to work properly. I am in the process of adding a VSD to replace the stepped pulleys. I am also fitting a more powerful motor. Denford offered the option of a bigger motor for industrial use.
I will be in Queenstown in a couple of months time and will probably get to Arrow Town. What is the name of the furniture shop?
