I have a VZ 52 chambered for the original 7.62x45, I am interested in finding someone to re-drill the chamber and barrel for .338 Spectre. I am pretty sure this would require refacing the bolt as well.
I have no idea if this is possible, but am interested and have a feeling a lot of "stars align" with this.
A kind of cool aspect of the rifle, it has an adjustable gas system. This should help with tuning in of a new cartridge.
I have looked into a new OTS barrel and they don't seem available. There was someone that started down the path of making them, but everything I have read is not good.
Seems like a fun opportunity for a rifle that in best case scenario would never be a collectible. When CAI brought these in, a portion were "Bedliner" painted and this is one of them. There are some beautiful examples out there...but this one ain't it.
I'd prefer being able to visit an adventurous machinist (Kansas City) but emails, phones and shipping work too.
