Both sight attachment points are on the frame. The frame is extended for the front mount.

I was referring to the front sight base.
I'm guessing it's brazed on, but I looked with a good magnifier today and can't see any evidence of it.
Could it have hidden pins ?
My rear sight is out of travel to the left so I' thinking maybe the front sight is off.

Front sight base
Looking at the exploded parts diagram on page 31, there is a plunger on the front of the sight base that needs to be depressed to detach the sight post but the base itself is not shown as a separate piece.
Maybe a bent barrel or frame? Or misdrilled mounting hole?
