Would this work for a barrel flush system??

Not likely. First, it's rated shut-off head is 13 ft. That's about 25 psi. Second, it is not a positive displacement pump. You need about 100 psi and a gear or piston type pump (positive displacement).

1 foot of water is .433 psi. 13 ft = 5.62 psi

I saw a set up once that is pretty effective, a small block chevy oil pump mounted to a steel lid that fit the 5 gallon buckets. When he wanted to use it he hooked a drill up to it and ran it with that. Those pumps are set up from the factory to by pass at around 60 PSI but with a stronger spring in the valve will do a lot more than that and the pumps used to be cheap? Just a little food for thought.

I use car power steering pumps. The roller type wont jam up if some swarf goes thru.Get half a dozen the same so you can swap them over easy when stuffed.A lot of auto repairers will give you pumps that leak at the spindle. This is no problem with a workshop setup, just drain the fluid back to the tank.Pressure up to 1000psi if needed.Regards John.
