I own a Haas with the NextGen controls. I didn't bought the machine with a Renishaw probing system. The probe was luxury for the work I'm doing. Besides I didn't want to hold the probe in the turret (10 position turret). If I want to probe I manually have to insert the probe, make a macro with WIPS and run it. But it will take me almost the same amount of time than with my 3d haimer setter. But the OTS (toolsetter) would be very useful for tool length, diameter and lights out machining.
Anyone knows if it possible to connect a OTS with OMM module to the machine without using the OMP probe?
I have the tool setting macros already on my machine. And I don't think I need scaling and user definable macros to make it work. I do have the spindle orientation option.
