Does anyone here have any opinions on the haas 15000 rpm spindles? Any issues or whatever.

The shop were I work at just bought a VF-3 ss 15000rpm with a pallet changer, 2months ago ,so far the only problem is the
the pallet changer door that gets stuck, a problem the technitians cant seam to fix.
What material are you planning on cutting?.The only thing we cut in the VF-3 is 6061 alu.

We machine mostly aluminum. Lately we have been getting RFQ's for small parts, aluminum and 303 stainless, that require small tooling. We have a repeat job out of 303 that we run on our 10000 rpm machines. The largest endmill is .125 and the smallest is .03. This is run on an indexer also. Lots of 3D milling.

then the vf-3 is perfect, for the price you'll get a good deal.
im the programmer at the company, and i program at about 1.5" dop at 12,000 rpm with a feed of about 95 ipm w/ a 3/4 em and that baby just sings
so I think you'll be happy with that machine cutting alum, not sure about the 303ss

I am profiling and pocking on 316ss and 304ss on a VF-2SS with a 12,000rpm spindle, using .250" and .125" Maritool TiAlN endmills at pretty close to the recommended speed and feed. I still a newbie, but I noticed for the small tools, the spindle load meter hardly moves at all and will snapped off .125" endmill without much notice when I made a programming error.
