Although i try not to do this often, Ive seen this happen twice on two different Haas mills (both 2014s). First time the part moved while using a high feed mill and overloaded the spindle, second time a spade drill broke. Both times the spindle stopped but axis motion did not! It seemed like it planned to keep on going, luckily both times i was standing there with my finger on the feed hold and stopped it. Did not see an alarm message either time.
Any other machine I've seem, when spindle load is exceeded it instantly alarms out and all motion is stopped. Is this not the case with haas?
Im wondering if this is happening because from the factory, the "current commands" page for "tool load" has no max load set. Both machines i have gone through and typed 200% into each tool.
Am i on the right track or is there something else i need to do? I really don't want to see this happen again! Cant believe they wouldn't have that safety built in?
