Hi Guys;
Thanks in advance for any help you may have.
So far, you guys have pulled me out of every mess I can create.
Well.... I got another one....

I build this nice little tool caddy, and now have H&T errors because I am not using M6...
I don't know how to do an alias code.
Here are my programs:
I use a main and an outside sub for the tool change. O1001 to pick tool one, O10011 to put it back O1002 to pick tool 2...

I can run the tool picking program by itself, does fine.

Running it as an outside sub, it runs all the way until I am done with tool one, then errors out when I clamp tool #2 and try to make the Z up to clearance move.

If I command a m6t2 of course, then I am not using the caddy..
How can I tell the machine it has tool #2 without calling an M6?

Or even better, how do I go about butchering up the M6 so it runs my little tool change programs in their offset positions?

Well, have a peek if you got a couple minutes.
Again, my many thanks!
Mark

Hey guys!
Kirk Quast from Thomas Skinner just checked in, and he said it is just setting 15!
Ok, I'll try it..

It worked great.
Only thing is I can't get the active tool to display, but the active codes show the tool as I named it.
The TM 2 is my prototype machine, and I like it, but I do run some production in it too, and this is going to save a gob of time once I figure out the coolant switching problem.
And that is, I call an M8 and the relay output for the coolant doesn't energize.
That is another war...

I have a 2005 TM-1 without a changer and do a lot of parts that only need 2-3 tools so a caddy similar to what you've made is something I've thought about many times. making the caddy would be no problem but the programming situation has always stopped me from getting anywhere.

If you get the thing to work, I'd love to hear how it works out. I'd even be willing to pay for a how-to package with the programming bits included.

Best of Luck!

My codes are listed, but whatever you need, I will be more than happy to help. When I get back to the shop next week, I'll send the details.
No payment allowed. The rest of the guys here have shown me so much generosity... it is my honor to pass these tidbits along... my chance to help out.
Our way here.
Now, I find it so annoying that every 15 minutes I have to re-load the machine... for $300.00 worth of product.
Shucks.
