I couldn't take it anymore!!!...
Laugh if you want,
but I couldn't take getting splashed with coolant anymore!
A few of you probably know what it's like to get splashed with coolant first thing in the morning, and then have to work the rest of the day before you can go home and take a shower.
That was the last straw for me.
A while ago I bought a Haas TM-1 machine but being a little older they made it without a full enclosure.
Had a small splash guard bolted to the table that travels around with it, not very practical.
Looked online, and found that there was a company that made aftermarket enclosures for this machine.
I needed an imediate cost effective solution so;
I found some material kicking around the shop and made a temporary solution.
Spent 6hrs Sat evening and 2 hrs Sunday morning until it was good enough.
Works quite well actually, all materials (most) are available at your local home depot.
Had a blast making it because there were no prints to follow, just some head scratching.
I will probably upgrade it to all plexiglass once I get the time.
Hot chips + wood = trouble, so if you are looking at this & thinking it might work for you, fyi: Becareful!!!!!!
We are running aluminum and coolant so i dont have to worry that much.
Anyways, the reason I am mentioning it, is because some of you out there probably have the same issue.
Thought this might help.
