Default mastercam communication to Haas

We are trying to get mastercam x4 to communicate to a haas vmc through a rs232 cable. We have all of the common settings matched up but still no luck. Any ideas about the other settings on the mastercam side?
Thank you.

Default Rs232

Just a newbie here.

I believe the RS232 Cable pin outs are in the HAAS Manual.

Also, I THINK! the cable is wired as a null modem cable. If you have a straight wired RS232 cable it probably won't work.

Maybe one of the experts here will be of more help.

John

I just set mine up a few days ago. 99% of the time I use USB, but just wanted to set up RS-232 just to have it. I used a null modem connector between my serial port and the machine, matched the settings and voila. My baud rate is 19,200, it loads slow compared to the speed of the USB, but it's no big deal, I'm just using it for back up. HTH

I had just gotten mastercam 9 to communicate but then we went to version x. I use gibbs cam also and it communicates fine. I have baud rate, stop bits, parity, com port, etc set up identical but still nothing. I just wasn't sure about some of the other options with mastercam.

Default Program loading

We have this system. I do not load programs but the programmer does. The programmer is new and when he loads a program we get the program and also some alarm with red blinking lights on the machine. The other programmer did this for about six months before he just amazingly stopped that issue. No explaination. I guess if it loads it is ok.
