    Need Help fast on how to indicate the stylus after it has been broken.

    Indicating a stylus is simple. Get a .0001 indicator and use the obvious set screws and adjustment screws on the probe body. Get it within .0001". That's it.

    You should really indicate the tip of the stylus not the body.

    What do you think we are talking about here? If you've ever seen the Haas Renishaw probe the stylus adjustments are on the probe body. (I know...crazy!)

    If I might add onto what tc1999 has said; Yes, stylus within .0001 TIR....not the body. The body's not relevant. Whenever you change the stylus, you need to recalibrate. When you do, be sure you dial in the ring gage (or fixture or hole) to within .0002 TIR. This is one of those garbage in, garbage out things.
