Thread: SL-20 throwing an alarm after we unplugged the bar feeder

the boss in his infinate wisdom has moved out the bar feeder on our sl 20. now the machine is throwing an alarm saying that there is no feedback for the barfeeder encoder... or something like that....

I ran down the paramaters and i didnt see a barfeeder interface listed...

i am sure there is going to be a paramater turn off somewhere...

does anyone know it?

the machine is throwing a 217 alarm, which says a bad encoder or a cableing error. But we have unplugged the cable from the machine...

I have switched the parameter for the barfeeder brushless... from a 1 to a 0

but no change

i also changed the barfeeder status parameter..but that throew a different alarm , so i turned it back on.

so still need help

update.... i figure the 217 alarm is not related
but we are also getting a 762 alarm..."cable from bar feeder encoder does not have valid differential signals"

thanks that helps, but i wonder if the year difference matters.....the open control panel in the back on mine didnt look exactly like the one in the book...but I got the barfeeder alarms fixed......but now I have the z and x axis servo alarms 110 and 103.... I gues ill bite the bullet and call haas in.
