Hi all,I've recently bought a 50's vintage Australian made,New Visby lathe to use in my home workshop.
Today(in another shop)I lifted the bed off the two cast bases which it sits on and the joint was assembled with what I think was referred to as tar paper in the day as a gasket.
I'm after any advice on what people would use in it's place today.
It's a reasonable size machine a bit over 2 meters long overall,2 1/8" spindle bore,haven't actually measured the swing yet.
I disassembled it for transport to my home workshop where I'd struggle to move it fully assembled.
