i just got this thing off craigslist and are in the process of undoing the decade that it sat for.
i got the end caps off and new bearings coming soon.
for the life of me i cant seem to get the backing plate off.
i assume it is just the 2 little spanner wrench holes towards the center of the plate?
i have made a pretty stought wrench for this and it uses 2 cobalt 5/16" drill bits for the dowels.
so far after heating and spraying with oil it is cracked loose but i cant get the rest of it to start turning.
it is right hand thread
if i new what the other side of the plate looked like i would drill and tap in two new 1/2" threads for bolting on a wider bigger bar.....
