Yeah that's a nice SIP Hydroptic Jig Borer if anyone's looking http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0001-3013523/manufacturing/societe-gienevoise-hydroptic-8-jig-borer

Personally I'd swop you the Deckel for the Schaublin 53 http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0011-3013523/manufacturing/schaublin-universal-milling-machine

Likewise you can keep your Colchesters, this Cazenauve looks fair http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0008-3013523/manufacturing/cazeneuve-bed-lathe

And this while older, will have more balls in it than any Colchy ever had, http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0005-3013523/manufacturing/heidenreich-harbeck-gap-bed-lathe

Happy hunting guys ;)

So the question to Sami is simple:
"Is it cheaper to ship that heavy lathe up from Australia,
or ship Sami down there ?"

I know one thing for sure, the lathe
is in a nice warm, dry location.....

If I went to Aus I'd be ''going home'' to my late mothers country;)

With the way my arthritis is playing up, a hot and dry climate has more appeal as each day passes.

Kinda thunk that, so buy a conex box and start outfitting it for the journey....

Did anyone notice the Matrix Compound Sine Tables among the SIP accessories? Matrix (Coventry Gauge & Tool Co.) also made jig borers. The tables look very nice, I have not seen that type before.

There are two "balls" on the side of each table, I am guessing you put your slip gauges between the ball and the pad below.

Not sure how the table are locked.

Tiny photos, the sellers have not tried very hard. A lot of the machinery looks well-used, probably pretty tired by now.

For the one advertised being used i suppose you would have to test it out to see how good it still is or isn't.

Yep the other items look like they have done some work, again same deal.

Items look cheap the jig borer is quite large of the ones i have seen and table looks nice.

Remember to convert to USD the figure will be 0.7 x it ( roughly )

17 ton is alot of metal for the machine. does not look that heavy but it is.

The Schaublin 53 and the FP1 Deckel mills look like a real bargain as the bidding stands now. What strikes me as odd is the "Blue Safe" has higher bids than some of the machines! Is that tell tale of the shape of the Australian economy; Maybe those in the know want a haven for their hard earned cash?

well ford has closed, holden ( GM ) is to close, toyota has closed all within a few years of each other.

The jig borer which would have cost a significant figure when new is not even making scrap value at the moment and thats throwing in the accessories for free.

What do you think of the deckles? do they have rapids on all axis and feeds on all axis ?
What is their speed range on the mill head?
How expensive are holders for the mill head?
what is the travel is various axis?

What year do you think they are? 1960- 1970?
Estimated worth as they sit?

Not much of a airspace industry, let alone space, car industry dead as a dodo, most don't know what manufacturing is
