I don't want to pay storage on this machine anymore so I am ready to part it out and scrap the casting or if someone wants to buy it whole that is fine. I will take $1750 for the whole thing. It is currently at a storage facility with a forklift. Be advised, this machine weights 19,000 lbs. I didn't believe it either, but we weighed it twice. When I purchased it I was told it had been running before putting it into storage. The machine powers on but the screen is not working properly (see pictures). When the machine ready button is pressed contactors actuate in the elec cabinet but the machine ready light never comes on. Fanuc control. Hydraulic pump works great.

Servo Drives - A06B-6045-H005/H006
Servo Motors - A06B-0601-B
Spindle Drive - A06B-6041-H106

Thanks

-Nick

That's the oldest 6M I have seen. I'd be interested in the control power supply. It's the 5V/24V supply mounted below the main board in the cabinet.

What's the part number on the memory board? If it's a 256K or 512K board I'd be interested.

DC spindle motor and Getty's servos has it sharing more in common with machines made in the 70's than the 80's.

6M or T? I think DC spindles were better suited to lathes and stayed in use longer. That's the only 6M I have seen that didn't have Fanuc yellow cap servos and an AC spindle.

Can you take some pics of what the cable ends look like that interface to the servo drives? I'd be interested in those if you end up parting it out. Got an '84 Millac 4VA with a Fanuc 6M that I want to do a retrofit on just want to be able to switch back to Fanuc controls and make parts right up until I'm all done with all the integration and ready to tear all the 6M stuff out.

Garwood,

I will check on the memory board on Monday. I can also pull the power supply at that time if you are truly interested. What is it worth to you?

Greenbuggy,

I will grab some pictures on Monday.

If the power supply has had new caps installed in the past decade it's worth a couple hundred to me. If not It's value is pretty low. A rebuilt unit is $400. let me know on the memory board. Most are 56K, but they went up to 512K. I doubt they offered the bigger memory boards in 1980, but there's a chance someone upgraded it.

Also, if you have books I'm looking for a 6MB maintenance manual.

No go on the maintenance manual. I pulled the power supply and the memory board. The capacitors on the power supply board definitely look newer. I don't know the capacity of the memory board but I've attached pictures of it and the power supply.
