Very clean unit. Came out of a Minnesota manufacturing company. Company shut down 1 of their product lines so sold off all the machines making said product. This unit was hooked up to a large Makino machining center, to operate the clamps on their fixtures and tombstones.

I've seen them used on Mori Seiki lathes.

These pumps are cool. The motor runs on an inverter. When no flow is needed, instead of just recirculating to the tank at full flow, the pump motor idles and uses a small pump to maintain line pressure.

When it sense a demand for flow, it ramps the motor up to full speed almost instantly and runs the main pump until the demand for flow drops.

This is great for machine tools where you need hydraulics intermittently for things like tool changes or chuck clamping. They use a lot less power and put less heat into the oil.

The concept is similar to closed center hydraulic systems, but less complicated than variable displacement pumps, and more efficient.
