Sheldon TU1248-P lathe FS
Time to thin the herd! I have a Sheldon 13" swing by 48" between centers lathe that comes with
6" south bend chuck that has reversible jaws
2 dead centers
dog drive plate
5 tool holders
The ways are fairly decent with slight ware towards the chuck end, the spindle runs smooth.
No crazy crashes as evident from the condition of the compound.
Half nuts and lead screw are in good shape.
You can reach me at " four four zero 342 four seven two four"
Price is $875 which I feel is quite realistic.

Be very careful with those little roll arounds under it, lathes are top heavy, that thing will do a face plant so fast you will not believe it. Even though it is a baby lathe you are not going to stop it once it starts to go over.

Thanks for the heads up, I've read many a horror story about that. I usually use a heavy duty skid and pallet jack but they are visiting my soon to arrive Hendey. That's why the Sheldon needs to go.

For those that have asked about the spindle runout , this is what I get with a dial indicator with a .001" scale.
Indicating on the .5" flat between the chuck register and the end of the threads the needle barely moves off "0"
When I run it at the lowest speed of 40rpm the needle flutters slightly.
Indicating off the I.D. at the end of the spindle in the taper using a wire adapter on the end of the D.I. so it is still at 90 degrees, I get roughly .0003"
Same thing while at 40rpm.
Unfortunately I don't have an indicator with .0001" scale to be more exact.
