Bought this press at an auction and the ratchet mechanism is completely gone. Has a shipwheel in oposite side. Is it a boat anchor or still worth keeping around ans whats it worth.
A guick Google shows Greenerd still in New Hampshire ... Press was sold with either the 'ship's wheel' or the rachet mechanism. Implies the rachet might still be available. Value now depends on condition, but does not sound like junk.
Yep the No 4 is available 3 ways. Most commonly with the ratchet (7 ton), 24 inch pilot wheel (3 ton), or 36 inch pilot wheel (4 ton). Excellent broaching and bearing press and certainly worth keeping if you need a press. Its worth whatever someone thinks its worth. Weight is around 1100 lbs.
wanna sell it? send pictures and price and town your in to 765 499 1875..
You could also get this press with the pilot wheel and the ratchet on the same press.. The pilot wheel is on the right side when facing it if its a pilot wheel only press and its on the left side if its a ratchet or compound press also..
