I just picked up a 225MM/9" cold saw that I'm trying to identify!

Judging by the motor I'm guessing it was made somewhere over in Europe?

Doing a quick search, It looks to be somewhat like a Thomas?

Does anyone have one like this, Or know who made it?

Pedrazzoli comes to mind?
Thanks for the information!

I checked out some Pedrazzoli saws & it looks like they have a different style base than the one I got, Also it doesn't look like they have any 225mm saws! Looks like Pedrazzoli start with a 250mm blade.

Here's a few more pic's of my saw with the blade & guard removed which shows the base a little better.

I had one that looked very similar, Thomas I believe and it was from Italy.
The closest match I have found is a Hydmech P225.

Judging by a parts diagram I found on the P225, It looks almost the same as mine. The one I have is probably just an older model & the design has changed through the years.

Their headquarters is in Italy, But it looks like they also have a plant in Canada. More than likely this one probably originally came from Canada.

There used to be numerous Italian made cold saws. For some strange reason the Italians were into saws and the Spanish were into gear head drills. The Hydmech line is mostly made by MEP in Italy. Another big Italian saw maker is MACC. Even the German saw maker, Kasto, was private labeling Italian made cold saws for years (now they've gone back to all German made)

You might Google "Italian cold saws" and find it....but more likely you won't...either because it's old enough the design has changed slightly or the maker is kaput. A small one like that, that old, is worth almost nothing....so in that sense it doesn't half matter...but sometimes it is fun to pinpoint a mystery maker.
