Hi If you send me The serial no and all data i maby can get The historia of The lathe old owner, and tolerans from the manufacturer

In 1956, Köping changed how they wrote series no,so that the second figure was the year.
As your lathe is older, they had to manually search for the identity papers. They will call back whid an answer on Thursday
 
Just saw your post on your Kopings lathe. I've got a S12S that has about a 3 meter center-center distance. I contacted Storbro Bruks after I bought it and they said it was made in the early 50s.
The tag says S12S No24 AR 951. It was in a coal fired power plant before I got it. The change gears are stored in the base of the tail stock end. My avatar is a pic of the head stock.

Did you get the data paper on it whid al the tolerans?

No I didn't get any paper work with it. I was happy to get the change gears and 3 tool holders. I believe the tool holds are "toolfix". They don't appear to be very common in the US.
