Cylintrical square

I have a 21 in.Dia. X 41 in. cylindrical square for sale for a friend of mine
he is asking $3800 Is this realistic pricing ? I,d like to know what the market is

That's huge -- which translates to a small market.

I'd be inclined to find out who sells these in this size -- and see if they want to buy it. They would be in a better position to qualify (calibrate) it and to find a buyer.
 
It sounds like a lot of money but your friend has probably priced a new one which is likely huge coin. As others have said the problem is that it is not likely that anyone is in the market for one ,new or old.

Is this a proper calibrated square or home made ,it is not hard to make a reasonably accurate bottle square if you have a cylindrical (OD) grinder ,grind a piece of tube between centres ,get it as close to parallel as possible then grind the end on the side of the wheel at the same setting ,if the grinder is in good nick you have a pretty good square that is easy to check and would cost a small fraction of the selling price.
