For Sale Denford Orac CNC Lathe with Turret.
First off I have to state the turret does not operate. I do not know why.
The turret did work when I originally purchased the lathe but quit functioning shortly
after purchasing the machine. I installed a single tool quick change tool post (piston style)
and used it that way. The quick change tool post and a few holders are included.
The original operators panel quit functioning properly and I swapped it with a panel from a newer Orac. Some of the functions shown on the newer panel do not work simply because of the difference in models. I also have most of the electronics from the donor Orac if anyone needs something. Let me know.
This lathe has been upgraded with a Hitachi SJ200 inverter (VFD). Manual is included.
I added a manual on/off spindle switch and a spindle enable on/off switch. By using the machines auxillary outputs the spindle can now be programed to start and stop as needed. The original Orac design did not allow spindle start-stop via programming. The operator panel switches can be used for the spindle control as it was originally designed but when set up this way the spindle must be started manually.
The machine is set up to run from 220V single phase power directly.
I have owned and operated this lathe for about 6 years and it is very dependable.
I am selling this machine because we now have a commercial building with 3 phase power
that allowed us to upgrade to full size machines.
Orac's are very well built and make a great retrofit machine to run on Mach, EMC, etc.
In fact it was my intension to retrofit this machine but we really no longer need it.
Also included is a lap top computer used to write, store and transfer programs.
Included is the original operators manual plus I have the electrical and mechanical manuals for this machine scanned into .tif files.
Please keep in mind programming for this machine is quite outdated so it will probably be best to be retrofited to operate on Mach, EMC, etc.
The machine is quite heavy at approx. 300lbs so pick up would be best. I will crate and ship
the machine if desired for an additional charge.
Located in Waterloo, Iowa.
Asking $1100.00 or reasonable offer.
Thanks
